COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a trade qualification for plumbers in residential, industrial and commercial workplaces who are responsible for assembling, installing and maintaining water services, sanitary plumbing and sanitary drainage, gas, roofing and mechanical services in both existing and new constructions.

 

The plumbing industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered and assessed in this context.

COURSE STRUCTURE

General Plumbing

For the award of the CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing (General Plumber) a minimum of 58 units to be completed as follows: Core Units : 43 and Elective Units: 15

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must be 18 years of age at the time of enrolment

  • IELTS score 5.5 overall (with no band less than 5.0) or equivalent Pearson Test of English (PTE)

  • Year 12 or equivalent of Australian HSC.

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES & EDUCATION PATHWAYS

After successfully achieving the Certificate III in Plumbing, candidates may may pathway into further higher education.

Graduates may also find employment in industry as:

  • Plumber

  • Gasfitter

  • Roof plumber

  • Mechanical services plumber

EXIT POINT/AWARD

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

 Students that complete some but not all of the units of competency as stated in the Course Structure may be issued with a Statement of Attainment. It will identify only those units of competence that have been completed as part of the qualification and recognised nationally under the AQF.
